Hailing from Cheltenham, 20-year-old singer-songwriter, Dj and producer Chez is a promising newcomer on the scene. Her talent spans from folk-infused ballads to her energised Drum & Bass DJing. Over the past 2 years, she’s entranced audiences across the South West with her ethereal vocals and dynamic performances. The flourishing artist has played venues around her local scene such as Pilgrim’s Yard Gloucester and has more recently had bigger bookings, including a vocal set at Witcombe Festival, a Dj set in Swindon with Mc Inna supporting Dj Hazard and IC3, and a Dj set in Gloucester supporting Dazee and Kenny Ken. All of this precedes her first ever release, the organic and impactful EP Could’ve Been. Storytelling is the essence of every track, with Chez’s lyrics inviting listeners into her world as nuanced instrumentation swells alongside her. She draws influences from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Loyle Carner, Joy Crookes, Daughter, Dope Ammo, and Hybrid Minds; it’s this eclectic diet which has culminated in her versatile sonic style. This summer saw Chez host her own radio show on Krush FM, before becoming a resident DJ on the station’s Pirate Sessions, performing every second Friday of the month. Now honing production skills, the artist has plans to create her own original music that will surely captivate and energise crowds. With undeniable potential to make a name for herself in multiple spheres, Chez could well be a force to be reckoned with.
