Dan Cooper is an artist, poet and DJ from Gloucester with a varied output spanning the last 30 years. Blending together Spoken Word and  Concrete Poetry as well as Sound and Visual Art, his work also explores Lo-Fi Pop, Ambient and Electronic as well as Rap and RnB music. 

Dan has previously hosted shows on Cutters Choice Radio, Basic FM, Culture Lab and Tone Radio. He has had slots at Alex James’ Big Feastival, Cheltenham Jazz and Literature Festivals, Wychwood, International Noise Day and the Performance Art event Tempting Failure, where he invited the audience to help him destroy 12 guitars.


He’s shared bills with the likes of Sammy Virji, The Orb, Goldie, Mad Professor and Denham Audio - although in a more domestic setting he can be found at The Moon Under Water (Wetherspoons) in Cheltenham where he is the resident DJ, three nights a week. 

Dan has self-published two poetry pamphlets (Slain Finch and Real Butter) and recorded collections of his poetry, music and sound experiments all of which are available on streaming services. The most recent album ‘Horsbere’ was released on limited edition cassette tapes on Warm and Vertical Records towards the end of last year. 

As well as receiving airplay on 6Music as well as local BBC stations, he recently had poems featured on James Massiah’s Adult Entertainment radio takeover. Dan is also a current member of The Cheltenham Improvisers Orchestra and helps out with the Swindon publication Pig Hill
